Summer Reading, having a...blast?
Jun. 13th, 2023 10:19 am It's Summer Reading, finally!!! We literally spend 6 months planning a six week program and then it goes by in a flash. Anyway, we're BUSY. I had 30 at storytime yesterday, which would have been a good turnout in 2019, and our summer lunch programs have also been well attended.
There have been a lot of developments with my biggest work stressors, mostly positive. I'm cautiously hopeful that things have reset enough to not cause these huge headaches later on.
The garden is overall doing well! We're dealing with some pests munching on things and I'm not experienced enough to know what they are or how to address them. But we have been getting some amazing peas, and everything else is growing, flowering, and getting ready to harvest.
We went to see the new Spider Verse movie on Saturday and both loved it. It didn't have the elation and joy that I found in the first movie, particularly the Danger sequence, but it went really deep into themes of belonging and identity. I love how 15 Miles is in this one.
I've been making some good food lately but I think I'll post that as a separate entry when I'm not typing on my phone 😂
