Garden update 6.14

We've been doing quite a bit of work on the garden and yard and it's starting to show results! I picked the first green beans this morning, the peas are starting to come in, and the tomatoes are on the way. I'm also starting some seeds for the fall vegetable garden--broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and cucumbers. We'll see how they do!
Aside from that, I'm trying to weed/dig up plants and mulch in the front yard. That's the area we want to turn into a native garden so we're not really planting anything yet, but trying to get it ready.
It's supposed to be hot, sunny, and humid all week here, so watering is going to a priority (ugghhhhhh @ the Midwest summer).
Harvesting: peas, beans, nasturtiums, mint, basil, the babiest of carrots, one lone tomato
Coming along: cauliflower, carrots, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, strawberries (!!), bachelors buttons
Growing: squash, fruit trees, blueberry, rhubarb, dill, beets, kale, zinnias, okra

Shade: ferns, hepatica, columbines. Marshy ditch: milkweed, irises, and Swamp rose mallow. And then we'll probably fill in with mulch and/or some ground covers like wild ginger and wild geranium.
